“The Baltic states share common values and infrastructure, and we have a good opportunity to become a trailblazer in Europe in the field of digital as well as clean energy,” said Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid at the meeting on December 17, 2019 between the presidents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in Riga .
President Kaljulaid added that digital, energy, security and climate neutrality are all interrelated. The Baltic region has the potential to be one of the most digitally advanced regions in the world, yet for that, we will have to unite our strengths.
In addition, it is important to engage in close cooperation among both the Baltics and Nordics to achieve climate neutrality, so that the same rules apply on all common electricity markets.
